Building a ship is missing a remove\/delete object tool. Early level enemy fire is a bright white\/yellow which is nearly identical to the ground and hard to see. I feel like the back scoreboard should display your healthbar \/ stats. I'll play it more later because I like the concept but ick, those issues are kinda off putting.Also when you're building your ship the controls are sloppy as hell until you make wings \/ engines. Kinda odd.I didn't see a save ship template tool, I hope it has one but... I dunno yet. I don't want to have to build a ship every time.. This seems a good start for a VR "shmup" game! ( For example, Raiden or Aerofighters from the 90's )I think the player needs more "credits" in game to start - 5000 would be enough?. It's pretty fun.. One of my favorite games to play on my Gameboy was Gradius Galaxies... A classic shoot em up.This is the closest game in VR to that experience. Arcade mode is intense, you only have one life to get through the 6 levels currently in the game. There are bosses on each of the levels at the end and you gain credits from killing enemies and some destructible stuff in the environment.It's really amazing that you're basically on a level treadmill. It gives you the illusion that you really are flying through the level. Some of the tight spaces and caves in the game really feel awesome and you are really there in your voxel world. The ship building is still buggy, but from when I originally bought this it has been improved. I believe I'm still #1 on the leaderboards right now, and from someone who enjoyed Xortex.... I really think you would like this game if you liked Xortex.The ship building is relatively basic, there are connection squares.... armor that gives you more health, weapons, wings (affects responsiveness of your ship), engines (affects the responsiveness of your ship\/movement), and power (powers your weapons). It's a little intimidating at first, but once you fiddle with different weapons and how your ship is built you can figure out what you like and what works for you.The game will probably get you about an hour or two of playtime if you go through the free mode, which is easier and lets you save progress. However, it is a great hour or two. I really hope more levels get added since so far the content for me was well worth the price of admission!. lame is the correct way of saying how it is, very confusing menu and the bloom is off the chart... craft not even set on the controller. Everyone who likes the good old shootemup`s, like R-Type, will probably like to fly around in such a game in VR. I do! And that is what you do in Xion. The sound fits the action well. If you like the voxel graphics is a question of taste but when you are in action it works very well. The devs are responsive and have promised to bring out regular updates. I really can recommend to buy that game. Now I have played it myself I even would buy it for the full price.If you like shootemup`s buy Xion!. it's a fun game. they still need to fix some glitches but it's a nice experience that you can play for the most part with one hand. i would like to have the option to play seated and adjust my height and i really want the placement to be better on the oculus controller. the ship is angled very strangely. but overall it's a good game that is kind of unique.. (Beta 0.73)I haven't tried free mode, my first impression is of arcade. It's essentially the most fun minigame from "The Lab" mixed with an old shump like Xevious and some ship building (guy talking about 0.51 had a good description from what I remember from KH1, though the ship building is less buggy now). It's also one of those games that looks much better in VR than in the screenshots, even with it's retro\/voxel aesthetics (it's one of the few retro looks made by indie devs lately that actually looks and feels like it fits to me, instead of just being made to attempt to cater to some nostalgia). All in all, this is an enjoyable game. In it's current early access build, it seems a bit light on content for $15, but that could be just because I'm used to seeing more modes in the menu screen. I haven't beat arcade or tried free mode, and I'm excited to see what's in the future for this game. The only thing this game needs to be absolutely worth the full asking price is some more modes (filler suggestions: time trials, level select, challenge modes, endless) and a crapload more ship parts.EDIT: Played free mode a little today. It seems to be a save file, difficulty slider and level select all in one (though honestly, only messed with it for a little bit and it wasn't completely clear. I could be wrong). Those were the the things I wanted the most for this game, and I'm glad they're already implemented. I feel I can honestly say paying $10 is absolutely worth it for what you get right now, and $15 is still worth it if you can be patient\/hopeful for the updates to fill in the gaps, or even if you just REALLY want a VR arcade style shump. Fun game, decent soundtrack, not too shabby visuals, and I still love how well the square arcade feel works in VR. That said, I'm still hoping for more ship parts, levels, possibly some more modes (revised suggestion list: endless, boss rush, cheats, challenges), maybe some more enemy types... and please, change the sound effect for the flying bonus ships that appear. Anything that sounds like an alarm is always the worst and most annoying thing in a game. Like when you have half of a heart in any Legend of Zelda game.. Cool xevious or radius game in 3d and VR. Shows lots of promise but still in early development. Bought my copy for half price.. 5 minutes play, 4 minutes trying to figure out how to attach guns to the ship, very clunky, so just went into the game with no guns was sp bored trying to attach them. I get it , you need power etc and build your ship, but it just wasn't easy to stick the pieces together, refunding, sad because I liked the look of this game. Needs menus polishing and the ship build mechanic reworking imho :\/ I may be the lowest common denominator, but a game needs to have instant playability, not frustration at clucking the controllers together, which is what I mainly experienced :\/
